In 2008, we successfully obtained over a million dollar settlement for a woman whose legs had been burned as a result of a leak in an improperly tightened, newly installed gas line from a propane tank into the house. An inspection of a reported gas smell failed to find the leak before a workman’s cigarette lighter ignited fumes causing a flash fire that burned Plaintiff’s legs. She did recover sufficiently to be able to return to work as a school bus driver, though her legs were badly scarred from the burns.
